i think i've been overambitious and perhaps have some shadow work to do here. i think this post is me being honest with myself and continuing the work of confronting it and working through it.
i saw a quote recently, "power is only need to do things that hurt people, otherwise compassion and love are enough"
i think from being a teenager up until now in my life, i have craved power. i think i did this because having power seemed necessary to survive and thrive. and I feel I've finally let go of that desire, mostly out of exhaustion.
if the alternative is love and compassion, what does that look like to truly live for those things? that's what i'm trying to figure out
